We are a registered out-of-school care service, offering both morning and afternoon sessions within a vibrant primary school. As our Manager, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the service runs smoothly while maintaining the high standards that families rely on.
About the Role
We're looking for an energetic and committed Manager to oversee our out-of-school care provision. You'll be responsible for planning and coordinating activities, supervising a team of childcare practitioners, and ensuring effective communication with parents, children, and school staff. While maintaining our Care Inspectorate gradings, you'll also have the autonomy to implement positive operational changes that enhance the experience for service users.
Your Responsibilities
As Manager, you will:
* Lead the day-to-day operations, including staff duties, school collections, and activity planning
* Support and motivate your team, ensuring a positive and collaborative working environment
* Build and strengthen relationships with parents, children, and school staff through clear and effective communication
* Ensure service delivery aligns with Care Standards and identify opportunities for improvement
* Implement company policies and procedures, prioritizing the safety and well-being of children and staff
* Organize and facilitate staff training, meetings, and development initiatives
* Oversee financial administration, compliance requirements, and regulatory returns
* Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, including GIRFEC, SHANARRI, Child Protection, and National Care Standards
* Monitor and adapt to relevant health and safety guidelines, including COVID compliance
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold or be working towards a BA in Childhood Practice or Level 9 Childcare Qualification
* Have proven experience in a childcare setting, with staff supervision/management experience
* Be SSSC registered at Manager level (or eligible for registration)
* Have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Be an excellent communicator, able to engage confidently with children, families, and colleagues
* Show initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to challenges
* Bring creativity and enthusiasm to play and learning experiences
Working Hours
* Term-time: Up to 32.5 hours per week (Morning shifts 7:30–9:00am, Afternoon shifts 2:00–6:00pm)
* Holiday periods: Flexible, with reduced hours and remote working options available
