Base pay range
£65,000 - £80,000 + Bonus + Car allowance. The position will be based at the client’s Leeds offices; remote work may be possible with attendance as required.
Responsibilities
* Serve as an AWS specialist, consult and provide technical guidance on AWS design, governance, performance, scalability, security, operations and cost control best practices to maximize AWS investment
* Guide architecture and high-level solutioning of new products and services with IT and business partners to ensure optimal operation
* Assess cloud maturity, review existing AWS implementations, identify gaps and suggest improvements
* Collaborate within a team on larger solutions, providing technical support to meet delivery timescales
* Map current product states and plan 3–5 year roadmaps to support EOL and EOS risk mitigation
* Support DevOps teams to improve technical maturity, availability, functionality, performance, security and cost of applications
* Deprecate and remove outdated technologies and practices to minimize risk
* Adopt new technologies and practices to maximize competitive advantage
* Define, refine, automate and improve processes for greater efficiency, safety and security
* Promote a continuous, automated, and feedback-driven route to Production for product changes
* Stay up-to-date with current and future technologies, products and strategies
Qualifications
* BS/MS degree in Computer Science or 4–8 years related experience
* AWS Certification(s) such as Solutions Architect Pro, DevOps Engineer Pro, SysOps Admin, Developer Associate
* Producing technical artefacts and documenting As-Is and To-Be states
* Cost optimization and cloud best practices
* Defining standards and cross-product patterns to improve consistency
* Security awareness with a security-by-design mindset
* Agile development techniques and project management (SCRUM, KANBAN, etc.)
* Strong interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to work in a team and autonomously with minimal supervision
* Ability to support people through change
Must Have The Following
* 3+ years of architecting and delivering public cloud solutions, particularly AWS
* 5+ years of production experience within AWS
* Experience designing, implementing and operating large-scale SaaS products
* Experience with cloud-native security concepts, DevSecOps, or MLOps
* Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed architectures (containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless)
* Proficiency with CI/CD tools to automate testing and deployment
* Ability to create tooling and automation to improve developer experience and delivery speed
* Eagerness to tackle challenges
