About the Role
The role will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate running of day to day tasks within the payroll team for Vets practices for the growing population of over 9,000 colleagues providing flawless delivery and excellent service to all stakeholders through an accurate payroll service.
This role will report to the Payroll Team Lead (Vets), and work with the Payroll Co-ordinator’s to ensure suitable training is provided to Payroll Assistants, helping to develop consistency and accuracy within payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities
* Part of team processing timely, compliant, and accurate payroll for c9000 vet practice colleagues on a four-weekly basis across a number of payrolls.
* Supporting other areas of the team with payroll processing of our Retail and Distribution Centres when required.
* Dotted line responsibility for the Payroll Operations Team.
* Responsible for ensuring day to day tasks are completed within the Payroll Operations Team in accordance with the payroll schedule.
* Responsibility for reviewing manual calculations completed by the Payroll Assistants and Payroll Co-ordinators.
* Responsibility for working with the Payroll Co-ordinator on periodic HMRC reconciliation and review ahead of sign off by Payroll Team Lead.
* Assisting with team training on processes and technical elements.
* Conducting monthly 1:1’s with the Payroll Assistants and Payroll Co-ordinators to ensure support is being provided where required and flagging any concerns to the Payroll Team Lead
* Ensuring the delivery of a first class service to our colleagues across the business
* Supporting the processing and reviewing of P11d returns using 3rd party software
* Ensuring the delivery of a first class service to our colleagues and stakeholders across the business
* Be the first point of contact for escalations
About You
* Previous experience of administering payroll within an office environment is essential.
* You will have a excellent understanding of current payroll legislation.
* Previous experience of using SAP payroll solution is an advantage but not essential.
* The successful candidate should be well organised, work to a high level of accuracy and have keen attention to detail.
* Previous experience in work allocation an advantage, but not essential.
* To ensure we deliver a first class service, you will need to have strong written and verbal communication skills.
* You will be required to be computer literate in Word, Excel & Outlook.
* You should be an honest and trustworthy individual who is able to comfortably handle confidential information & adhere to all GDPR legislation.
* You will have a good understanding of current payroll legislation.
* Previous experience of using SAP payroll solution is an advantage but not essential.
