Fire Engineer / Senior Fire Engineer – Hoare Lea
Hoare Lea is a human‑centric, planet‑conscious engineering consultancy that delivers intelligent and sustainable solutions to complex design challenges for the built environment across the UK. We provide a wide range of services, including acoustics, air quality, building services (MEP), fire, lighting, security and sustainability, and our teams work on some of the UK’s largest and most high‑profile projects.
Responsibilities
* Focus on fire safety design of buildings.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary Hoare Lea colleagues and long‑term external clients.
* Develop detailed knowledge of UK regulations and design guidance.
* Integrate other construction professionals’ requirements into the project.
* Maintain open communication among all project team members to deliver efficient feedback.
* Attend design team meetings, design workshops, client meetings and site meetings.
* Travel to UK clients and projects, and occasionally internationally, as project demands require.
* Use software analysis tools—evacuation, smoke and fire modelling, heat radiation models and structural fire modelling.
Qualifications
* Experience working in a fire engineering consultancy role.
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Maths, Architecture or Physics with a keen interest in Fire Engineering.
* IT literacy with a working understanding of fire modelling software analysis tools.
* Excellent communication skills and interest in working in a team environment.
* Ability and commitment to deliver to demanding timescales with good organisational and planning skills.
