About the Firm Our client is a leading UK professionals services firm recognised for its high-calibre clients, collaborative culture, and commitment to excellence. They are now seeking an Experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team, managing a key portfolio of clients across major practice areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for a credit control professional with experience, looking to take ownership of their own ledger, work closely with partners, and make a direct impact on firm-wide cashflow performance. The Role As an Experienced Credit Controller, youll be responsible for managing the firms debtor ledger and cash collections process for a defined group of clients and practice areas. Youll combine strong communication and negotiation skills with commercial acumen and a detailed understanding of firm billing and client finance structures. This role involves close collaboration with partners, revenue controllers, and client finance teams, ensuring all invoices are paid on time and in line with agreed terms. Key Responsibilities Manage your own portfolio of client accounts, ensuring timely payment of invoices. Build strong relationships with clients finance teams to resolve queries and maintain goodwill. Liaise daily with partners and fee earners regarding aged debt, WIP, and collection priorities. Produce regular aged debt and cashflow reports, highlighting risks or overdue balances. Negotiate and agree payment arrangements where required, following up proactively. Support the revenue and billing teams in ensuring accurate and timely invoicing. Allocate receipts, process credit notes, and reconcile client payments. Maintain detailed, GDPR-compliant records of all correspondence and actions. Achieve individual and departmental cash collection targets while protecting client relationships. Ensure full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, VAT regulations, and firm policies. About You Youll be an experienced, confident, and commercially aware credit control professional who thrives in a fast-paced, partner-led environment.
