As a Psychotherapist you will be:
* Deliver evidence‑based psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions to patients in line with NICE guidelines, best practice recommendations and relevant professional codes of practice.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and review individualised care plans that meet patients’ psychological and emotional needs.
* Undertake comprehensive psychological assessments, including the use of formal psychometric measures, to inform clinical formulations and treatment planning.
* Provide specialist consultation, advice, and reflective practice to staff teams to support psychologically informed care and a trauma‑informed approach.
* Facilitate individual and group sessions as clinically indicated.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with legal, ethical, and organisational standards.
* Contribute to service development initiatives, quality improvement projects, and audit activities to improve patient outcomes.
* Engage in regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development to maintain high standards of practice.
* Support and promote a culture of safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of clinical and organisational practice.
* Ensure that reports and assessments are clear; written within an appropriate timeframe and adhering to Elysium Healthcare policies and appropriate ethical frameworks (such as BACP, HCPC, BABCP, NCS…)
* Professionally and empathically disseminate feedback of engagement in a variety of formats (reports, verbal feedback, professional discussions with hospital and external staff)
To be Successful in this role, you will be:
* Providing psychotherapeutic / CBT assessment, formulation, and treatment to individuals with complex mental health needs in inpatient and/or community settings.
* Recognised professional qualification in psychotherapy.
* Full professional registration with the relevant governing body (e.g., UKCP, BACP, HCPC, BPS, NCS, BABCP).
* In‑depth knowledge of a range of psychotherapeutic models and evidence‑based interventions, and the ability to apply these to complex and co‑morbid mental health presentations.
* Skilled in developing comprehensive psychological formulations and individualised treatment plans.
* Professional, compassionate and empathic communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
* Strong skills in risk assessment, crisis management, and safeguarding within a mental health context.
* Ability to work within a trauma‑informed framework and promote psychologically safe environments.
* Competence in maintaining accurate, timely, and legally compliant clinical records.
* Proficient in reflective practice, clinical supervision, and peer consultation.
* Awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles, and commitment to anti‑discriminatory practice.
* (Desirable) Experience in delivering training or workshops for clinical and non‑clinical staff.
* (Desirable) Experience in research, publication, or presenting at professional forums.
* (Desirable) Experience of completing psychological risk assessments such as the HCR‑20, START.
