As Contracts Manager, you will lead multiple projects from mobilisation through to successful handover, ensuring delivery is aligned with client expectations, company standards, and health & safety regulations. You’ll be instrumental in developing high-performing site teams, maintaining control of programme, quality, cost, and workforce performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the successful delivery of kitchen and bathroom refurbishment contracts
2. Ensure all Site Managers are fully supported and capable of managing their respective projects
3. Manage the day-to-day running of contracts to deliver on time, within budget, and to specification
4. Uphold strict health and safety practices, site documentation, and risk assessments
5. Mobilise new projects efficiently and manage detailed programmes of work
6. Deliver exceptional service quality while ensuring productivity targets are met
7. Monitor and audit site performance, resolve issues, and maintain strong client relationships
8. Develop site-based staff, including apprentices, in line with business values and performance goals
9. Represent the business as a confident, courteous Contracts Manager in all client and branch meetings
Skills & Experience Required:
10. At least 3 years’ experience as a Contracts Manager within kitchen & bathroom programmes
11. 10+ years in the property refurbishment or construction industry
12. Strong commercial awareness, with knowledge of local trades and labour markets
13. IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills and a good grasp of site systems
14. Confident communicator and people manager, capable of handling performance issues proactively
15. Fully conversant with contract programme management, cost control, and reporting
Qualifications & Compliance:
16. Full UK driving licence
17. NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate
18. SMSTS certification (essential)
19. CSCS Card – Supervisor or Manager level
20. Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS) desirable
21. BCTG Supervisor Development Programme certification
