Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Cramlington
Hours: 39 hours per week (Days)
Additional: Enhanced rate available for shift work
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading oilfield equipment supplier. This hands-on role involves inspecting, servicing, and repairing electrical and where appropriate, basic mechanical systems across a busy manufacturing facility. You’ll ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Service, repair and maintain all electrical and mechanical plant equipment and facility systems
*
Diagnose faults using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software
*
Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and improve reliability
*
Identify and advise management of potential equipment or plant issues
*
Support and cross-train other maintenance team members, providing guidance to junior operatives
*
Maintain accurate departmental records and contribute to reliability improvement projects
*
Source required components and external services where necessary
*
Produce technical documentation, including risk assessments, LOTO procedures, and maintenance reports
Quality & Compliance
*
Work in line with ISO 9001 and API Q1 quality standards
*
Ensure all works are properly recorded, traceable, and compliant
*
Perform inspection and testing to IEE 18th Edition Regulations, BS 2391, or equivalent standards
*
Be CompEx certified (or willing to complete CompEx training and certification)
Health & Safety

Comply with all site and company Health & Safety procedures
*
Identify and resolve potential HSE issues relating to electrical systems
*
Always wear appropriate PPE and follow safe systems of work
What We’re Looking For
*
Time-served Electrical Maintenance Engineer or equivalent qualification
*
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
*
Experience maintaining plant and equipment within an industrial or manufacturing environment
*
Sound understanding of electrical safety, testing, and inspection standards
*
A proactive, team-oriented approach with strong attention to detail
