Mid Argyll and Kintyre are situated in one of the most scenic parts of the West Coast of Scotland, offering great opportunities for outdoor activities and local sporting events such as the Mid Argyll Triathlon and the Mull of Kintyre (MOK) run. The beautiful islands of Arran, Jura, Gigha, and Islay, all accessible by daily ferries, are perfect for day trips or weekend getaways. The main town of Oban is approximately a 50-minute drive from Mid Argyll.
This role provides opportunities to develop both clinical and non-clinical skills aligned with the NHS Education for Scotland (NES) post-registration foundation programme. You will deliver person-centred care across various settings, develop prescribing capabilities, and collaborate with pharmacy and wider multi-professional teams. You will be supported by an educational supervisor and experienced pharmacy teams throughout your training.
The Mid Argyll, Kintyre & Islay pharmacy team provides clinical pharmacy input into mental health services, community hospitals, and GP practices. The position is based in Lochgilphead and Campbeltown, requiring regular travel between these areas. Therefore, a full, current driving license and use of your own car for work purposes are essential. The rural setting offers variety and the chance to develop new skills. Please note, the post is not suitable for routine remote working.
Requirements: You must have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
