Responsibilities
* Follow site procedures related to quality, environmental, and health & safety systems
* Continuously improve plant operations, processes, and the working environment, collaborating across departments
* Assist in monitoring external contractors and ensuring compliance with site rules
* Conduct regular plant inspections and audits
* Respond quickly to unscheduled plant stoppages to minimize downtime
* Utilise system for recording labour, materials, and performing planned maintenance tasks (PPM)
* Safely and efficiently repair plant equipment and services
* Participate in maintaining the overall efficiency of the maintenance department, including tool management, housekeeping, and spare parts control
* Be part of the maintenance call-out program
* Diagnose and resolve plant/process defects using Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
* Work within budget guidelines and seek cost-reduction opportunities
* Engage in and promote a Safety-First culture
* Identify and pursue personal development and training opportunities
* Share and implement best practices within a process driven industry
Skills/Experience
* A recognized Mechanical engineering apprenticeship and/or formal qualification
* Hands-on experience with mechanical components such as Lathes, Milling, Welding, Fabrication, Hydraulics and Pneumatics
