Legal Practice ManagerSalary: £80,000–£100,000Location: South Coast (Primary base: Worthing)Type: Hybrid / Multi-office
Join a fast-growing regional law firm recognised for its expertise in real estate, commercial property, and residential conveyancing. We are seeking an accomplished Legal Practice Manager to support firm-wide growth, strengthen operational performance, and lead on regulatory compliance.
Role Overview
Strategic Leadership & Growth
* Drive the firm’s growth strategy across its multi-office network.
* Lead business improvement projects to enhance efficiency, profitability, and client experience.
* Provide commercial insights to support new service lines and departmental expansion.
* Harmonise processes, systems, and performance across all locations.
Regulatory & Compliance (COLP/COFA)
* Act as the firm’s COLP & COFA, ensuring full compliance with SRA standards.
* Oversee client money handling, audits, risk management, and mandatory reporting.
* Maintain compliance training, monitoring systems, and firm-wide culture.
Operational & Office Management
* Manage day-to-day operational performance across all offices.
* Lead administrative and support teams.
* Oversee relationships with external suppliers, IT providers, and operational partners.
Financial Management
* Oversee financial controls, budgeting, cashflow, and compliance with Accounts Rules.
* Work with the accounts team on billing accuracy, reconciliations, credit control, and reporting.
Client Experience
* Champion a consistent, high-quality client journey across all offices.
* Continuously improve onboarding, communication, and service processes.
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong leadership experience within a law firm or regulated professional services environment.
* In-depth knowledge of SRA compliance; COLP/COFA experience desirable.
* Proven ability to drive operational or organisational improvement, ideally across multiple sites.
* Commercial understanding of real estate, conveyancing, or related legal services.
* High financial literacy and familiarity with legal accounts rules.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills at Partner level.
* Desirable: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), REL, or equivalent.
