Are you passionate about sustainable design and making a real impact in peoples homes? TSA Surveying is working alongside a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy thats driving forward the UKs decarbonisation and retrofit efforts. As their retrofit services continue to expand, theyre on the lookout for a skilled and qualified Retrofit Designer to strengthen their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in improving energy efficiency and comfort in social housing, while contributing to the UKs net-zero ambitions.
What Youll Be Doing
* Designing whole-house retrofit solutions in line with PAS 2035:2023, ensuring compliance, practicality, and high performance.
* Reviewing and translating Retrofit Assessment dataincluding condition surveys, ventilation reviews, and IOEsinto clear, actionable designs.
* Creating detailed technical documentation: from ventilation and airtightness strategies to material compatibility and step-by-step installation guidance.
* Evaluating heritage issues, structural constraints, and building limitations, recommending suitable solutions and mitigations.
* Performing U-value, condensation risk, and thermal bridge analyses to validate and optimise designs.
What Were Looking For
* A qualified architect with ARB or MCIAT accreditation.
* A background in architecture, building surveying, or building services engineering, with hands-on experience in domestic retrofit projects.
* Solid understanding of PAS 2035 and the Whole House Retrofit approach.
* Strong technical knowledge in:
o Fabric-first design principles
o Insulation and ventilation systems
o Moisture management and thermal detailing
* Proficient in Revit/CAD, Microsoft Office, and project platforms like AirTable.
* A confident communicator able to engage with clients, contractors, coordinators, and residents.
