A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAD CHEF AT OUR HOTEL What you'll be doing Plan, create, and update menus based on seasonality, guest preferences, and cost efficiency Recruit, train, supervise, and manage kitchen staff, including delegating tasks and resolving conflicts Ensuring that kitchen staff adhere to quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations (e.g., HACCP standards) Manage food inventory, order supplies, liaise with suppliers, and maintain profit margins Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen equipment and organising repairs when needed Extensive knowledge of food and cooking techniques, including culinary creativity Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the job WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU Genuine interest in cooking and enthusiasm for learning in a professional kitchen. Some previous kitchen experience is a plus, but a willingness to work hard and learn is essential. Understanding of basic food prep techniques and a commitment to improving your skills. Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and food safety. Team-oriented mindset, able to take direction well and support colleagues as needed.
