Civil Engineering Apprentice (Level 6) – Regulated Water (Glasgow)

Opportunity to study alongside working for Jacobs, focusing on regulated water sector, progressing toward a UK Level 6 qualification at the University of Strathclyde.

About the Opportunity

Jacobs has secured multi‑year contracts and projects with leading clients across the UK and Ireland’s water sector. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering projects in water and wastewater networks, treatment, asset management, network modelling and programme management.


Responsibilities

* Design of water treatment plants, pumping stations and distribution networks to supply drinking water
* Design of wastewater treatment plants and drainage network assets to improve river quality
* Design of pressure and gravity pipelines
* Design of site layouts for markets such as water, datacentres and energy & power
* Preparation of feasibility studies for new water and wastewater assets, including regional transfer programmes within the RAPID SRO framework

Qualifications

* A minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points including Grade B in A‑level Mathematics or equivalent
* Strong interest in civil engineering and regulated water management
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Proactive, flexible and self‑starter mindset, eager to develop new skills
* Ability to adapt, prioritise and manage concurrent work and study commitments
* Enthusiasm for applying skills to solve real‑world problems
* Empathy and listening skills to understand client requirements
* Well‑rounded experience (e.g., bar work, sports leadership, volunteering) that showcases a breadth of interests
* Permanent right to work in the UK
