School Caretaker
Must have DBS Check up to date for temporary role
The Role:
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking School Caretaker to ensure our client's premises are clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times. The role involves carrying out general repairs, maintenance, and site duties, as well as supporting with health and safety compliance and minor refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct routine inspections of the school site and buildings
* Perform general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting
* Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and ventilation systems
* Ensure the school grounds are tidy and safe
* Manage contractors and service providers when on-site
* Carry out regular health and safety checks, fire alarm tests, and record keeping
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff
* Support with setting up rooms for events or special activities
About You:
* Can provide an up-to-date DBS Check
* Previous experience in a maintenance or caretaking role (school experience an advantage)
* A good understanding of health and safety regulations
* Basic skills in a range of trades (DIY, plumbing, electrical, decorating)
* Able to work independently, use initiative, and manage time effectively
* Friendly, approachable, and respectful, with a flexible attitude
* Committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
* Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS clearance
