Overview
The Cavendish Laboratory (Department of Physics) is inviting applications for Facilities Assistants to join the Soft Facilities team. You will be part of a small team delivering customer service and building management across the Cavendish Estate, supporting daily operations and events.
Responsibilities
* Perform daily operations to support the smooth running of the Department, including building management and estate-wide parcel deliveries.
* Support delivery of meetings, conferences and events; assist with room setup and logistical tasks as required.
* Support health and safety compliance within the department.
* Utilise a CAFM system (experience in a similar role would be advantageous).
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar role in an educational setting, or as a caretaker or porter.
* Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and visitors with a confident, positive attitude.
* Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks and use initiative.
* Understanding of the importance of custodial work within higher education and willingness to help wherever needed.
* Familiarity with PPMS within soft service delivery (preferred).
* Proactive, hardworking and motivated to take on the next task.
Details
The Facilities Assistants work shifts from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. Occasional cover to support events and teaching outside normal hours may be required in the future. Uniform is provided and to be worn on shift. This full-time post is available immediately. Interviews are scheduled for the week beginning 29 September.
