Role Purpose
The Manufacturing/Engineering Maintenance Engineer which a hands on role, is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all plant, equipment, and facilities. The role leads the maintenance function to maximise asset availability, reduce unplanned downtime, and support production through a proactive, reliability-led maintenance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Health, Safety & Compliance
* Lead and enforce a strong safety-first culture across all maintenance activities
* Ensure all work complies with H&S legislation, company standards, and safe systems of work
* Own risk assessments, permits, lockout/tagout, and contractor safety
* Investigate incidents and near misses related to maintenance, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
* PPE, Dress code in line with company standards.
2. Asset Reliability & Uptime
* Ensure high levels of equipment availability and reliability
* Reduce unplanned downtime through effective fault analysis and prevention
* Maintain accurate asset histories and failure data
3. Maintenance Strategy & Planning
* Develop and deploy a planned and preventive maintenance strategy
* Balance reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities
* Ensure effective maintenance planning, scheduling, and backlog control
4. Contractor & Supplier Management
* Manage external contractors and service providers
* Ensure contractors meet safety, quality, and performance expectations
* Control contractor costs and effectiveness
* Build effective relationships with key suppliers
