About The Role


Job Summary

Supporting the Regional Manager, the post holder will provide support and guidance to the Nursing Home teams with regards to RQIA requirements and all aspects of the effective running of a nursing home. The post holder will seek continuous feedback from residents and relatives to maintain high standards of care. The post holder will actively seek ways to improve efficiencies across the business and strive to maintain and promote the Spa brand. The post holder will deputise for the Regional Manager in their absence ensuring compliance audits are completed and reporting procedures are followed in line with the Nursing Home Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005 and Nursing Homes Minimum Standards (2008). The post holder will lead Home Managers on safeguarding protocols and liaise with the company Safeguarding Champion on any matters.


Job Duties

The post holder will be required to:

* Maintain NMC registration.
* Taking direction from the Regional Manager, provide leadership, support and guidance to the Management Team on a range of clinical, financial and personnel issues.
* Support managers in underperforming homes and develop affective action plans to achieve business quality/ compliance targets.
* Oversee the management of a home during the absence of the Home Manager and support newly appointed managers ensuring a smooth transition.
* Remain ‘on call’ in order to provide support to the management team as required.
* Assist with employee relations matters and recruitment as required.
* Take part in the design, review and implementation of all policies and procedures within the nursing home group.
* Conduct audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
* Work with integrity, honesty and openness, accountability, and respect.
* Promote a culture of continuous service improvement amongst the management team, encouraging their participation and that of service users in reviewing and modernising current services and in service development.
* Working with the Regional Manager, investigate complaints in a thorough and timely manner in line with the company complaints procedure.
* Act as line manager for the Peripatetic Team (consisting of RGN’s, Care Assistants and Cooks) and manage all aspects of the full employee life cycle.
* Contribute to the analysis of staffing requirements against workload activity at any of the business units within our group, as required.
* Manage and report on current occupancy levels in the Nursing Homes.
* Provide support, guidance, training and supervision to staff as required.
* Assist the Regional Manager to complete appraisals with managers and develop action plans where required.
* Maintain an awareness of clinical and professional developments in nursing to enhance resident care.
* Take the lead on safeguarding matters were necessary.
* Any other duties as required.


Essential Criteria

* Registration on sub part 1of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) live register by the closing date of the recruitment advertisement.
* 5 years post-qualification experience of which must include 3 years’ experience as a Nursing Home Manager.
* Demonstrable knowledge of professional and statutory bodies legislation.
* Demonstrable understanding of the issues and tasks involved in the management of nursing homes for example Human Resources and Cost control.
* A valid full UK driving license and access to a vehicle OR access to a form of transport which enables the post holder to fulfil the duties of the post.
