Salary: FC9 £47,604.34 - £57,196.54. This post attracts a £2,000 (non-contractual and temporary) market supplement in response to evidenced market pressures.
Contract type: Permanent. Working pattern: 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Location: Fife House, Glenrothes.
* The Divisional Valuer will be responsible for the efficient work supervision and training of Trainee Valuers, Technicians and Survey Assistants undertaking the survey and valuation of non-domestic and domestic properties throughout Fife for the purposes of compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll and the Council Tax List.
* The Divisional Valuer will also be the Service lead for particular categories of subjects.
* The Divisional Valuer will undertake the survey and valuation of the more complex or unusual subjects within their geographical area.
* Responsibility for overseeing the survey and valuation of properties for Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rating purposes within a specific geographical area or where the Divisional Valuer is the service lead in a subject category.
* The Divisional Valuer will be expected to act as expert witness for council tax and non‑domestic rates appeal cases being heard before the Scottish Courts & Tribunal Service.

Qualifications and experience: Must have experience in valuation of commercial or non-domestic property, practical working knowledge of the legislation and case law governing Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rating, and full professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (M.R.I.C.S.).
Skills and attributes: Ability to work with minimum supervision, exercise judgment and initiative, serve as a team leader and motivator, possess excellent communication skills, and a can‑do approach to help resolve problems.
