Project Manager – Finance (London, UK)
Immediate Start
(This role is a 6 month FTC with the potential to become 12 month or Permanent)
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our clients Strategy & Transformation team, delivering key change initiatives across finance, regulatory reporting, compliance, and digital transformation. The client is a well established SME bank based in the City.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage multiple projects (3–5) of low–medium complexity, covering business process transformation, regulatory change, digital initiatives, and efficiency improvements.
* Lead all phases of the project lifecycle: inception, business case, planning, design, build, testing, implementation, and benefits realisation.
* Apply best-fit methodologies (waterfall, agile, hybrid) with agile/scrum for digital projects.
* Establish project governance, report progress, and ensure risks/issues are managed to deliver on time, within scope and budget.
* Drive change management: impact assessments, training, communications, and readiness activities to embed sustainable change.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation and external partners.
Skills & Knowledge
* Strong project & change management skills, including planning, delivery, and risk/issue management
* Knowledge of both waterfall and agile methodologies
* Good understanding of banking operations and trade finance
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) essential; Jira desirable; SharePoint and PowerBI advantageous
Education & Certifications
* Prince2/PMP (above foundation level) or equivalent
Experience
* 5+ years in financial services, ideally within small to mid-sized institutions (other FS considered)
* Experience in regulatory, reporting, or data quality projects an advantage
* International project experience beneficial
* Broad understanding of the banking industry and regulation preferred
* Knowledge of trade finance, commercial real estate lending, or treasury helpful (training available)
