About the Role
Our client, a top-tier engineering design consultancy, is seeking experienced EC&I Engineers across all levels to support major projects in the nuclear sector. This is a unique opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges in a safety-critical environment, contributing to the delivery of essential national infrastructure.
You will use your EC&I knowledge to solve technical problems, deliver engineering outputs, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and client requirements. Depending on your level, you'll lead workstreams, act as a technical authority, or provide coaching and support to developing engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver EC&I engineering solutions across a range of challenges, maintaining safety, quality, and compliance.
* Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and regulators.
* Produce and verify engineering deliverables such as calculations, specifications, reports, and assessments.
* Apply relevant codes, standards, procedures, and good engineering practices.
* Lead or support technical investigations, feasibility assessments, and issue resolution.
* Assist with procurement activities and contribute to the development of technical specifications.
* Monitor and manage task or project progress against agreed time, cost, and quality targets.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, supporting their development.
* Act as a technical interface to clients and contribute to project planning and execution.
* Drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and learning from experience.
* Uphold best practices in Health, Safety and Environmental performance throughout all activities.
Requirements
Experience:
* Demonstrated EC&I engineering experience in nuclear, defence, energy, or similar regulated industries.
* Proven ability to deliver technical solutions independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience preparing, checking, and approving a wide range of technical documentation.
* Solid understanding of engineering lifecycle, technical standards, and safety requirements.
* For Senior and Principal roles: experience leading engineering packages or acting as technical authority.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation or Control Systems Engineering (or related discipline).
* Chartered Engineer status or actively working toward chartership (desirable for Senior/Principal levels).
Skills:
* Strong technical writing and documentation ability.
* Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proficient with relevant design tools and engineering software.
* Deep-rooted commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
