We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant Cardiologist on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Cardiology department.
Our client is one of the largest and busiest Trusts in Yorkshire, with this teaching hospital NHS Foundation Trust providing a comprehensive range of acute hospital and specialist healthcare services for approximately 800,000 people living within the area. In particular, Our client is to benefit from a £40 million share of funding, following a successful bid by the Trust for capital investment and as a result the funding will be used for such things, as enabling the creation of a Combined Emergency Assessment Unit, where staff from a range of medical specialties can work side-by-side in a single assessment area, close to the front door and diagnostic support.
The successful appointee will be joining a department of 5 consultants & 2 Associate Specialists and will be working in a department which consists of 5 bay CCU which is a fully equipped unit with continuous 12 lead ECG monitoring and facilities for temporary pacing, 15 Cardiology step down beds, Catheter Lab & a Cardiac Physiology Department. The appointee will be asked to fulfil various expectations such as Teaching & Training of junior staff, assist with governance and audit duties & fulfilling clinical duties that will be pre-agreed with clinical director.
