As a Computing Teacher, you will deliver ambitious programmes of learning that uniquely support and challenge each young person to develop key skills to enable young people to live healthy, happy, independent lives after leaving Prior’s Court.

This role will specialise in teaching IT students, so an interest or passion for this area is necessary.

Please note: Due to, a holder of a full UK driving licence is essential for this role as we do not offer transport.

1. £36,000 to £40,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience
Hours:
2. 37.5 hours per week

The role of IT Teacher at Prior's Court

As a Computing Teacher, you will deliver ambitious programmes of learning that uniquely support and challenge each young person to develop key skills to enable young people to live healthy, happy, independent lives after leaving Prior’s Court.

You will manage assessment, timetabling, planning and development of individual learning plans, and guide learning to ensure students achieve their individual "I can" statements and develop their learning journeys within relevant .

You will take responsibility for the overall progress of each young people of all ages within the computing curriculum. This includes adapting the curriculum to meet individual needs, monitoring progress, and delivering computing sessions.

4. Follow and deliver (long-term) planning as agreed with Leads
5. Monitor the delivery of learning in an or Learning Programme, ensuring it meets the needs of all learners, and builds on skills over the young person’s time at Prior’s Court.
6. Monitoring young people’s timetables ensuring young people are accessing planned sessions
7. Develop autism friendly strategies () to support young people, ensure implementation/use of strategies and evaluate their impact
8. Ensure the admissions process for new young people joining Prior’s Court is fully completed with all relevant information for the cohort
9. Adhere to regular use of progress cycle and that progress of young people is communicated to all interested stakeholders (young people, parents/carers, staff, placing authorities.)
10. Participate in regular reviews of the and its impact
11. Participate in the ordering, budget management and maintenance of Learning Programme-specific equipment and resources to support young people’s learning

What we are looking for

12. Experience of teaching children/young adults with autistic spectrum disorder or complex needs (could be in a mainstream environment)
13. Experience using a range of assessment tools relevant to the needs of autistic individuals
14. A passion for Information Technology
15. Able to plan, deliver and assess outcomes for children and/or young people
16. Experience in a SEN provision or school (preferred but not essential)
