This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Clinical / Counselling Psychologist in a multi-disciplinary team that warmly welcomes psychological ideas and practices. We are seeking to appoint a band 8A to work in the Salford Division at Cromwell House Community Mental Health Team. We are looking for a Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with enthusiasm and an appreciation of the challenges and rewards of working within a culturally diverse service venturing towards community transformation, supporting the inclusion of the six core therapeutic modalities.
In line with the aims of the Community Transformation Project, the post holder will be trained and accredited (where accreditation is available) in one of the following modalities: CBT-psychosis and bipolar, Behavioural Family Interventions, Structured Clinical Management, Mentalisation Based Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, EMDR.
If not currently trained and accredited, the post holder will be willing to complete training and work towards accreditation (where available) in one of these approaches. Training within Cognitive Analytical Therapy, and/or CBT for psychosis and bipolar, and/or EMDR will be particularly valued.
As the community transformation project develops, the post holder will be expected, when possible and appropriate, to contribute to the provision of psychological interventions via a specialist hub (i.e. a collaborative specialist team approach).
With a significant focus upon multi-disciplinary team working, the post will require a strong contribution to MDT meetings to support CMHT clinicians in decision making and care planning. The post holder will be expected to provide appropriate supervision and consultation to members of the CMHT to support the development of psychological expertise within the team.
There is also the opportunity to provide assessments and psychological interventions for service users who present with complex mental health needs. Participation in audit, research, service development initiatives and teaching and training will be encouraged and supported. There will be an expectation that you will support the provision of psychological interventions as part of the virtual psychology hub, which may mean some citywide working.
