Job Description
I am recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a well – known manufacturer based in Lancaster. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated finance professional to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team, gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes
* Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
* Assist with accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
* Support audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations
* Analyse production costs and contribute to cost control initiatives
* Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting
About You
* AAT qualified or part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
* Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within manufacturing or a similar environment
* Strong Excel skills and good knowledge of accounting systems
* High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
* Proactive, organised, and able to meet deadlines
* A team player with strong communication skills
