The School of Engineering at Lancaster University wishes to appoint a Chemical Engineering Technician.
In the School, chemical technician roles provide essential support for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as ongoing research projects. They ensure compliance with legal responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislative requirements, providing health and safety inductions for all staff and students working in the Chemical Engineering areas.
The role involves assisting with undergraduate practical laboratories and research projects across various disciplines within the School.
Applicants should have experience with chemical laboratory techniques, health and safety compliance, including the use of compressed gases.
Your work will include liaising with technical staff, teaching staff, students, Estates, Human Resources, and external inspection and audit organizations. You will also undertake confidential work regularly. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
