Overview
Mayfield is a 14 bedded Assessment and Treatment Unit supporting people with a learning disability and additional health needs including forensic, mental health, autism and behaviours that may challenge. The unit is currently functioning with 10 beds to accommodate the current client group; four bedrooms have been converted into pods to provide private space for four patients. We are recruiting an Activity and Therapeutic Support Worker to plan, organise and deliver a programme of activities in-house and within the community.
We are seeking a creative, resourceful, trauma-informed practitioner who will be a strong team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. The successful applicant will provide a wide range of activities to support the physical and mental wellbeing of this patient group and promote the philosophy of social inclusion and independence through activity programmes using risk-focused approaches.
Responsibilities
* Plan, organise and deliver a programme of activities in-house and within the community.
* Provide a wide range of activities to interest and stimulate physical and mental wellbeing of patients.
* Promote social inclusion and independence among patients and engage them in activity programmes while using risk-focused approaches.
* Collaborate effectively as part of the care team and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements/Qualifications
* Creative and resourceful with strong communication and organisational skills.
* Trauma-informed practitioner with the ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to motivate, guide and engage patients in activity programmes.

* Hours of work are: Full and Part-Time Hours Available across seven days.
* A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
* Part-time post salary is pro rata. From 1/4/2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week; part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata.
