Description Salary £36,363-£40,778 Per annum | Permanent| Part-Time - 18.5 hours per week Pro Rata International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship Supervising Social Worker – Fostering Kinship Support Team (Central/North) We have an exciting opportunity within the Fostering Kinship Support Central/North Team for a permanent, part-time Supervising Social Worker (18.5 hours per week). The team is based at Unit D Business Park, Chorley. This role involves supporting kinship foster carers across the Central and North areas, and occasionally carers placed outside of Lancashire. As such, you must be a qualified social worker, a driver, and have access to a car. About the Role As a Supervising Social Worker in the Kinship Support Team, you will play a key role in ensuring kinship foster carers are well supported, confident, and able to provide safe, stable, and nurturing care for children who cannot live with their parents. Your responsibilities will include: Supervising and supporting kinship foster carers, offering regular visits, supervision, and professional guidance. Undertake statutory duties including regular statutory visits and completion of annual foster carer reviews. Participating in a duty rota to ensure timely responses to carers and partner agencies. Ensure fostering arrangements comply with fostering regulations, statutory guidance, and Lancashire County Council policies. Facilitate and contribute to kinship fostering support groups, delivered both face-to-face and online. Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality records in line with statutory and organisational requirements. Ensuring children receive high-quality care that meets their individual needs and that all fostering standards, regulations, and statutory requirements are met. You will work collaboratively with partner agencies, children’s social workers, and internal colleagues to promote permanence, stability, and positive outcomes for children living in kinship arrangements.
