The Role As a Graduate Science Technician, you'll play a vital part in keeping a busy and well-resourced science department running smoothly. From preparing experiments to maintaining laboratory equipment, you'll ensure that every practical lesson is safe, well-equipped, and ready to go — giving students and teachers the best possible environment to learn and teach. This isn't a back-room role — you'll be a valued and visible member of the science department every day. Key Details Full-time, Monday to Friday Hours: 7:45am – 3:45pm Based in Leeds Competitive hourly rate — dependent on experience September 2026 start What You'll Be Doing Preparing, setting up, and dismantling equipment and materials for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Maintaining a safe, organised, and well-stocked laboratory environment Assisting with the ordering, storage, and management of science resources and chemicals in line with COSHH regulations Supporting teaching staff with demonstrations and practical activities Carrying out routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures at all times What We're Looking For Essential: A degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related science discipline Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team A good understanding of health and safety procedures in a laboratory setting An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one Desirable: Previous experience in a laboratory or school environment Familiarity with COSHH regulations and lab safety procedures Why This Role?
