SEN Teacher
Huntingdon House School is an exciting new, independent special school located in the heart of Ashby de la Zouch. Set in a beautiful historic building, we will provide a highly individualised education for up to 30 students aged 10–16, each with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our students are likely to have learning difficulties, language and communication needs, SEMH and/or Autism.

Through the delivery of a broad and appropriately balanced curriculum we want to help students to develop a wide understanding of the world around them, understanding their world through all areas of learning as reflected in the subjects of the National Curriculum.
We are seeking a passionate and creative SEN Teacher to join our founding team. You will play a key role in shaping a nurturing, engaging and inclusive learning environment where every student can achieve and feel valued.
About the Role
You will deliver the National Curriculum (at Key Stages 1–2 levels) through personalised and creative approaches, working in small classes and one-to-one settings. With many opportunities for collaboration and team-teaching, you’ll help to develop our flexible and responsive timetable, designed to meet the diverse needs of our students.
As part of a small, dedicated team, you’ll share ideas, support colleagues, and take part in regular planning and reflection sessions that ensure our provision remains innovative, caring and effective.
Hours: 39 weeks per year, 38 hours per week (including training days), this is a year round contract
About You
We’re looking for a qualified teacher with experience of supporting students with SEND, including Autism or communication needs. You’ll bring creativity, patience, and a deep commitment to inclusive education. Whether you come from a mainstream or specialist background, you’ll be eager to contribute to a warm, collaborative, and forward-thinking school community.
