Hours: Full Time - hours per week, Mon-Fri
Are you an experienced Lead Pharmacist? Are you available to start immediately in a new role?
Barnsley Hospital provides a full range of district hospital services to the local community and surrounding area. These include accident and emergency services, outpatient clinics, inpatient services, and maternity and childrens services. We also provide a number of specialised services, including cancer and surgical services, in conjunction with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
1. Report and investigate medicines-related complaints and errors, and share learning with key stakeholders. Feedback to patients and or carers where appropriate.
2. Work with the Lead Pharmacist Patient Safety and Quality to undertake necessary risk management work and ensure compliance with medicines legislation in relevant specialty areas.
3. Responsible for training pharmacy staff in the dispensing, accuracy checking and clinical checking of prescriptions
4. Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade as designated by the line manager or Associate Director or Director of Pharmacy.
5. To be involved where appropriate in the clinical checking, dispensing and or accuracy checking of clinical trial materials.
6. Clinical pharmacist provision to General acute medical and surgical/orthopaedic wards, in-patient and out-patient dispensaries

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:
21. Masters or Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
22. Experience of working in hospital Pharmacy, including ward-based clinical work
23. Aware of national standards
24. Clinical pharmacy provision covering acute hospital wards is essential
25. Ability to prioritise and manage an unpredictable workload
26. Professional attitude
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of
27. Relevant Qualifications
28. Registration with the relevant Registration Body
