Job Description
Operational Control Centre (OCC) is currently looking for Work Management Engineers to support several Work Management roles for delivering Commissioning/Pre‑operations (Comm‑op’s) on HPC. The Work Management team will grow and evolve to support the project to be constructed, commissioned, and operated safely and effectively within the UK regulatory framework. The successful individual will assist in the development and implementation of Work Management processes and tools, ensuring that procedures and arrangements are adequate to support each milestone.
You will build your knowledge of a pressurised water reactor, gaining experience from the UK fleet and other Nuclear New Build projects as you work within the Project Operational Control centre and the Work Management programme. You will also provide technical oversight during the construction and commissioning phases, preparing for technical responsibility for designated systems from commissioning and handover to pre‑operations. Your area of focus will depend on business need and previous experience. You will be supported and have access to the necessary training and technical documentation required to fulfil your role, with the support of the Lead Engineer and relevant experts within the business. This is a contract role working closely with OCC, Commissioning, and Pre‑Operations under the Comm‑op’s Structure. The Work Management Engineer will report to the Work Management lead and/or OCC lead/managers; the reporting structure may change as the project develops.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the commissioning team to improve the efficient production of both teams’ processes and deliverables.
* Specify commissioning work order cards to suit the work within commissioning.
* Resolve open point problems by liaising and discussing with stakeholders.
* Attend meetings as required as an active member of the OCC team.
* Support the development of the operational station’s routine maintenance into the Enterprise Asset Management System.
* Work closely with the Equipment Reliability team to understand and produce the routine maintenance requirements for systems on the operational station.
* Be involved and provide input into the development of the Enterprise Asset Management tool.
* Provide input into the development of standards, procedures and arrangements which support safe and reliable operation and maintenance activities in line with WANO AP928.
* Support the development and delivery of Work Management, Planning processes and procedures.
Qualifications
Essential
* Science and/or engineering background with relevant degree, HNC/HND or equivalent.
* Experience in operating key asset management tools (e.g. Asset Suite, data reporting tools) and Microsoft applications.
* Experience of writing maintenance instructions in a regulated industrial environment.
* Experience with performing/writing risk assessments and familiarity with the APSA (Authorised Persons Safety Assessment) process.
* Familiarity with Maintenance Manuals and System Design Manuals, including Engineering Drawings.
* Organisational and IT skills.
* Clear written communication skills.
Desirable
* Experience with commissioning processes or on a nuclear site.
* Understanding of WANO AP928 and other work management processes.
* Awareness of a nuclear power station’s licence conditions and compliance regulations.
* Experience on the current nuclear generation fleet.
