One of our clients is hiring a Senior Software Engineer – Python, Data to join their Experimentation Platform team.
This role focuses on scaling an internal feature management and experimentation platform that enables self-serve experimentation across a global technology ecosystem. You will help automate experimentation workflows, reduce complexity for stakeholders, and expand experimentation capabilities across the organisation.

Your Role
As part of the Experimentation Platform team, you will design and build scalable data and backend solutions that power experimentation across the organisation.
A significant portion of your work will involve developing complex Python-based data pipelines operating on massive datasets in BigQuery within Google Cloud Platform. Beyond traditional data engineering, you will evolve backend APIs, productionise statistical methodologies at scale, integrate new platforms, and develop tools that enable stakeholders to self-serve experimentation.
You will collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, analysts, and platform teams to continuously improve reliability, scalability, and experimentation velocity.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Platform Engineering
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data engineering solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Build and optimise Python data pipelines processing large-scale datasets in BigQuery
Integrate new data sources into the experimentation platform
Develop data transformation and processing flows
Experimentation & Metrics
Engineer a scalable metrics library in the data warehouse to enable self-serve experimentation
Reduce metric build time and improve experimentation speed
Productionise statistical experimentation methodologies
Deliver reporting solutions and cloud APIs to expose experiment results
Cloud & Infrastructure
Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and monitoring solutions
Improve platform reliability, scalability, and observability
Standardise practices across platform engineering teams
Engineering Excellence & Collaboration
Advocate for long-term, future-proof engineering solutions
Apply best practices in automated testing, CI/CD, and code reviews
Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver stakeholder value
Mentor peers and contribute to engineering community standards
Your Profile
Strong proficiency in Python for engineering applications
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Expertise in BigQuery (GBQ) and cloud storage solutions (GCS/S3)
Experience with Vertex AI pipelines, Airflow, and/or DBT
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Cloud Build
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
Strong understanding of experimentation methodologies (A/B testing)
Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Passion for continuous improvement and mentoring
