Youth Support Worker – SEMH Support (Ages 4–19)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are working in partnership with a highly supportive specialist school in Bristol to recruit a dedicated Youth Support Worker for the new academic year.
About the Role:
As a Youth Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students aged 4–19 who experience challenges related to behaviour, emotional regulation, and mental health. You’ll work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to create a safe, consistent and nurturing environment that promotes growth, engagement, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with SEMH needs in both classroom and small group settings
Assist the teacher with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Build positive, trusting relationships with young people to promote confidence and self-esteem
Contribute to individual education and behaviour plans
Promote inclusion and help pupils to engage in learning and school life
About You:
Experience working with children or young people in a school, youth work, residential care, trauma informed or similar setting
A calm, empathetic and resilient approach to behaviour and emotional challenges
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one through us)
Qualifications:
Relevant qualification in education, youth work, social care or similar (desirable but not essential)
