The Role
Reporting to the Data and Reporting Manager, the Feedback Coordinator will play key role in the Data and Reporting team. The team is tasked with producing timely and accurate staff and student data to support strategic decision making and performance management across the University.
A key function of this role will the setup, organisation and oversight of centrally managed student and graduate feedback surveys which are used to monitor performance and shape decision making.
A key driver for the team is to increase the accessibility and availability of data across the institution, this will include standardising reporting, designing and maintaining meaningful data visualisations and working on projects to enhance data governance.
Role holders will primarily be responsible for work surrounding both internal and external surveys and external data submissions but will be expected to work across the full remit of the Data and Reporting team supporting other team members during busy periods.
What you’ll do
This job description is subject to review and amendment in the light of the changing needs of the University, to provide appropriate development opportunities and/or the addition of any other reasonable duties.
1. Set-up and organise internal surveys and other feedback gathering mechanisms such as Student Experience Surveys with a focus on maximising ensuring high-quality, actionable data.
2. Set up and organise external surveys and feedback opportunities such as NSS, WhatUni, Graduate Outcomes etc.
3. Work with the Data and Reporting Manager, the Student’s Union and colleagues across the university to promote internal and external student surveys and opportunities to provide feedback.
4. Prepare and upload accurate population files required for external surveys.
5. Understand survey rules and technicalities, to be able to explain to others, including restrictions on ways of promoting.
6. Act as a first point of contact for enquiries about the student surveys and liaise with staff and students to explain the nature of and the rationale for the surveys.
7. Collate survey data responses, both quantitative and qualitative, into a useable format for further reporting and analysis by other members of the Strategic Planning department.
8. Coordinate information returns for league tables including QS world rankings, People and Planet, Complete University Guide, WhatUni, and those published by national newspapers.
9. Extract and undertake basic analysis on range of internal and external datasets covering the entire student lifecycle as well as staff data.
10. Support colleagues in the Strategic Planning team to provide accurate and timely information to aid academic and professional service departments, the Executive and Council of the University with decision-making, planning, forecasting and driving institutional performance.
11. Support colleagues in the Data and Reporting team to produce statutory and regulatory returns.
12. Support the Data and Reporting Manager in working with colleagues across the university to enhance all aspects of data governance.
13. Comply with Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR requirements in all working practices maintaining confidentiality, integrity, availability, accuracy, currency and security of information as appropriate. Take personal responsibility for all personal data within own working environment.
Additional Responsibilities
Undertake other duties as assigned by your line manager, commensurate with the role's grade.
14. Engage in university-level projects and initiatives as directed, and undertake any additional duties commensurate with the role, as assigned by the line manager.
15. Demonstrate flexibility by supporting colleagues during periods of high demand, including attendance at key university events such as open days and graduation ceremonies which may include weekend work.

Who you are – Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills required
Essential
19. Degree or equivalent level of experience
20. Excellent Microsoft Office skills and experience of using a range of software packages.
21. Experience of running outward facing campaigns through various media to encourage participation in survey collection activities.
22. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders.
23. Experience of collation of quantitative and qualitative survey data
24. Strong organisation skills with a track record of managing multiple initiatives/projects to time and budget including under pressure.
25. Strong skills and experience of collating, interpreting, analysing and presenting data as a basis for making recommendations for prioritised actions.
26. Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records.
27. Ability to work on own initiative and self-manage workload.
28. Knowledge of statistical analysis and data manipulation using software packages such as Excel.
29. Thorough understanding of administrative procedures.
30. A keen eye for data accuracy, with experience in writing reports.
31. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work methodically.
32. Oral (spoken) and Written Welsh Level B2. *
Desirable
33. Experience creating, maintaining and developing data visualisations using Power BI.
34. Experience of working with external data to help drive internal improvement initiatives.
35. Experience in supporting the production of accurate statutory and/or regulatory returns.
36. Experience of collation and analysis of quantitative and qualitative survey data in the HE sector.
37. Oral (spoken) and Written Welsh LevelC1.*
