Job Title: Accountant

Purpose of the Role
Key Responsibilities
* Monthly financial close process for allocated cost centres/cost types, including preparing and posting journals
* Control process for travel cost allocation across Pilgrim’s Europe working with external travel providers
* Preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations
* Work as a business partner with cost centre/budget holders, building awareness of cost drivers and opportunities to reduce cost
* Partnering lamb subsidiary to ensure accurate intercompany accounting
* Support the budget and forecast cycles for central cost areas
* Provide input to statutory accounts process
* Prepare cost analysis across Pilgrim’s Europe for use in decision making
* Support cost recharge mechanisms across Pilgrim’s Europe
* Ensure compliance with all SOX and standard internal controls as required
* Support external and internal audit processes
* Follow lean thinking principles and make suggestions for improvement so that better ways of doing jobs are identified and implemented
* Apply problem solving techniques to resolve problems and recommend improvements to maintain costs at a planned level
* Work with the internal control team to drive improvements and standardisation in finance processes
* Carry out ad hoc projects as required
* Act as an ‘ambassador’ for Pilgrim’s ensuring business professional conduct, approach, and personal presentation at all times
* Continually developing own skills through attending Company training
* Assume overall responsibility for the safety of self, whilst at work ensuring that all requirements as trained and laid down within the Company handbook, Company Health and Safety and Hygiene policies are adhered to
* Any other reasonable duties as may be required
