Job Role
The position is particularly suitable for planners passionate about dispute resolution, forensic planning, and delay analysis. You will support expert witnesses on projects with significant disputes, potentially preparing for mediation and adjudication, while also performing traditional planning tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties
In this role, you will work autonomously on projects and support senior delay experts in arbitration matters to help clients achieve desired legal outcomes. Specific duties include:
* Updating project programmes
* Conducting feasibility studies
* Contract administration
* Supporting contractors with NEC contracts
* Providing ad-hoc client support
* Managing contractual obligations from procurement to final account
* Scheduling, monitoring programmes, and assessing risks
* Providing progress assessments
* Writing reports for negotiations and dispute resolutions, including adjudication, mediation, and litigation, either as an advocate or neutral expert
Desired Skills and Experience
* At least 2 years' experience as a construction project planner, preferably in civil, building, or processing sectors
* Experience with pre- and post-contract planning on large, complex projects
* Experience with live project controls (dispute experience is a plus)
* Some exposure to delay analysis; full training provided if needed
* Ability to update and produce programmes and schedules for live projects
* Knowledge of Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject, or both
* Exceptional writing skills, including persuasive report writing
* Ability to work independently

Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* Degree in a construction-related field or equivalent qualification
* Membership in professional bodies like CIOB or CIArb is advantageous
