Surgery and Neurology Services Coordinator Durham, NC Schedule: FT Hours – Monday-Friday 8am-4pm The Triangle's premier Emergency and Specialty Hospitals are growing! Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospitals (TVRH) provide 24-hour emergency service and specialty referrals in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, neurology, radiology and pain and rehabilitation. We are looking for highly motivated and highly skilled Surgery and Neurology Service Coordinator who wants to utilize their skills to the fullest potential in a fun, fast paced, and stimulating environment. Job Summary The Surgery and Neurology Service Coordinator is an integral part in ensuring a functioning and efficient service in our Surgery and Neurology departments. The coordinator is the point of contact for the services and will take a primary role in triaging client and referring veterinarian communications. They also will ensure proper appointment scheduling, perform clerical tasks such as sending referral reports and ensuring medical records are complete, and audit hospitalized patient invoices. The coordinator will work alongside clinicians and technicians to develop organizational tools and processes for a more efficient, growing service. The Service Coordinator must be organized, have a great attention to detail, and be able to multi-task. They must have excellent client communication skills and be able to adapt and respond to different scenarios and client behaviors. Essential Job Functions • Provide excellent customer service and always be professional, ethical, and friendly • Improve service efficiency by taking initiative to remove roadblocks, develop automated systems of reminders and organization, and develop tools and procedures to improve workflow • Receive the public and answer questions specifically regarding the service, in person (when COVID restrictions are lifted), by email, and by telephone; respond to inquiries from clients, referring veterinarians and others; and refer, when necessary, to the appropriate team member • Schedule and confirm appointments; screen referrals, instruct owners on patient prep for appointments • Manage waiting list for cancelled and contingent appointments • Request, upload, and send medical records and lab results, ensure medical records are complete, and send to referring veterinarians • Audit inpatient invoices, ensure estimates and deposits are up-to-date and accurate • Manage clinician and technician on-call schedule • Work compassionately with clients in various emotional states, work patiently with distressed, frustrated, or disgruntled clients • Check clients out and process client payments Required Experience and Education • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent • Experience working in a veterinary clinic setting required TVRH offers a comprehensive benefits package in addition to a hiring bonus, competitive salary, and relocation reimbursement allowance: • Health, vision, and dental • Short-term and long-term disability • Critical Illness and Accident • Legal and ID Shield • Life Insurance • 401k with employer match Internal benefits include PTO, CE PTO and allowance, uniform allowance, and veterinary services discount.
