Overview of Your Day

The Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) Research and Development (R&D) Engineering Graduate Programme is designed for graduates from various backgrounds, developing them over two years to prepare for a professional career in the industry. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team at the forefront of new technologies, supporting a more sustainable future.

The programme includes placements in different departments, where you will be integrated into teams and learn through hands-on experience. You will undertake three 8-month placements based in Keele, Sheffield, and Glasgow.


How You’ll Make an Impact

* Design and engineer components to meet customer requirements, defining products and subcomponents, including their characteristics and specifications.
* Develop integrated system solutions, evaluating technical options and refining designs.
* Ensure the realization of components with the required functionality, including preparing design documentation and technical specifications for procurement.
* Research emerging technologies and validate components/equipment in laboratories and wind turbines.
* Create system models for simulations, control system design, and software development, including coding and testing.


What You Bring

* A minimum 2:1 bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences, completed before September 2025.
* A passion for renewable energy, research, and development.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with suppliers.
* Willingness to travel to wind turbine sites and work across Keele, Glasgow, and Sheffield, attending the office weekly under our hybrid policy.
* Ability to quickly learn new concepts.
* An adaptable, thorough, and logical approach with a sense of responsibility and ownership.
