Role Overview:
The Finance Director will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and management of the business. This individual will ensure robust financial governance, drive performance improvement, support sustainable growth, and act as a strategic partner to the Board and operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term objectives.
* Advise the Board and senior leadership on financial planning, investment opportunities, risk management, and funding requirements.
* Participate in shaping overall business strategy and expansion planning.
Financial Management & Controls
* Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management.
* Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, board reports, and statutory financial statements.
* Ensure strong internal controls, compliance with relevant regulations, and adherence to group policies.
Business Partnering & Performance
* Provide commercial insight and financial analysis to support operational decision-making and project delivery.
* Work closely with project teams to ensure accurate job costing, margin control, and project profitability.
* Champion value creation initiatives and continuous improvement across the finance function.
Team Leadership
* Lead and develop the finance team, instilling a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
* Mentor and support staff in professional development and succession planning.
External Stakeholder Engagement
* Manage relationships with auditors, banks, insurers, tax advisors, and other professional service providers.
* Represent the company in financial matters with external partners and regulatory bodies.

Key Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified accountant.
* Proven experience in a senior finance role within construction, engineering, or related sectors.
* Strong understanding of contract accounting, project controls, and commercial finance.
* Track record of strategic financial leadership and team management.
Skills & Competencies
* Commercially astute, analytical, and solutions-oriented.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* High integrity, with strong governance and risk management acumen.
* Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Excel
