About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a fun, passionate and caring team to support and empower our fabulous young people aged 16-25 within our Life and Living Skills Programme and Residential College service. It will be your job to support our young people to make their own decisions and reach their full potential, you will be required to support in a personalised way and respond to their needs, wishes and aspirations.
Within your role, you will support young people with a vision impairment and additional complex needs, to access the Life and Living Skills Programme. The programme is designed to support students to practice choice, control and independence in real time and context, enabling people to maximise their potential. Each young person has a clear, personalised living skills, accessing community support programme to fully prepare people for their next step, whatever that may be. This could include you supporting the young person to visit new services to support choice and control about transition and where the person would like to live.
About you
We are looking for kind, friendly, and compassionate individuals who are eager to use their transferable skills and experience to make a positive difference in the lives of our young people. You will bring a wealth of skills from previous roles where you have supported others, whether in care, education, or another people-focused field. With a strong “can-do” attitude, you will be committed to helping young people achieve their potential through learning and personal growth.
Your transferable skills, such as communication, problem-solving, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual needs, will be key in providing the tailored support our young people need. Whether you’ve worked in customer service, healthcare, teaching, or any other role where you’ve worked directly with individuals, you’ll know how to build trust, promote independence, and help others reach their goals.
Working pattern
2 week rolling rota – averaging 37 hrs per week, 38 weeks per year.
