Internal Sales Development Executive – Engineering Sector

Location: Shipley, Bradford (BD18)

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, office-based | 37 hours per week (Mon–Thurs 8:30–17:00, Fri 8:00–16:00)


About the Role


We’re seeking a proactive Internal Sales Development Executive to join a well-established and

growing engineering business supplying premium quality engineered plastic components to clients

across sectors such as aerospace, automotive, energy, and manufacturing. This role is ideal for

someone who thrives in a technical sales environment—confident engaging with engineers and

commercial teams, understanding customer requirements, and turning enquiries into long-term

business relationships.


Key Responsibilities


Sales Enquiry Management


• Act as the primary contact for inbound sales enquiries, responding promptly and professionally via phone and email.

• Develop a strong understanding of the company’s technical capabilities and value proposition.

• Interpret customer requirements and recommend suitable products or engineered solutions

(training provided).

• Prepare quotations, proposals, and order confirmations, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.


CRM & Sales Administration


• Maintain and update customer and opportunity data within the CRM system.

• Track and manage leads, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion.

• Provide regular internal sales reports and assist in sales performance analysis.

• Liaise with production, logistics, and finance to ensure smooth order fulfilment.

Customer Relationship Development

• Build and nurture strong relationships with existing customers across key engineering and

manufacturing sectors.

• Conduct outbound activity to re-engage lapsed accounts and generate new business opportunities through email, phone, and LinkedIn outreach.

• Gain an in-depth understanding of customers’ operations to identify and act on future project opportunities.

• Follow up quotations to drive conversions and customer satisfaction.


Skills & Experience Required


• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in internal sales, account management, or sales support—

preferably within manufacturing, engineering, or technical product sales.

• Comfortable discussing technical details and collaborating with engineering or production teams to build pricing and proposals.

• Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.

• Strong commercial acumen and a genuine interest in understanding customer needs.

• Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.


Desirable Attributes


• Experience selling engineered or technical products.

• Knowledge of mechanical or materials-based concepts.

• Strong analytical and reporting skills.

• A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify process improvements and contribute to business

growth.
