About the Role An established company is seeking a reliable and experienced Bookkeeper / Finance Officer to take charge of day-to-day financial operations. The Role This is a standalone finance position with full responsibility for the company’s bookkeeping and payroll functions. The role is fully office-based Key Responsibilities * Full management of sales and purchase ledgers * Matching and batching supplier invoices to purchase orders * Supplier statement reconciliations and preparation of payment runs * Bank postings and reconciliations * Xero processing and NEST pension submissions * CIS deductions and monthly submissions to HMRC * Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns * Posting journals (including wages and ad hoc adjustments) * Monthly and ad hoc reporting to management * Liaising with external accountants * Preparing accounts up to Trial Balance for year-end * Admin duties: answering phones, managing emails, maintaining staff records What We’re Looking For ✅ Minimum 5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or finance role ✅ Proficiency in Xero Accounts ✅ Working knowledge of CIS and NEST pensions ✅ Highly organised, accurate, and able to work independently for long periods without supervision ✅ Strong communication skills and the ability to manage your own workload Preferred (but not essential): ...
