What are we looking for?
We are seeking a reliable, organised, and proactive individual with a commitment to social impact and community-led work. The ideal volunteer will have previous experience in an administrative or secretarial role, preferably within a charity, non-profit, or community interest company (CIC) setting.

Experience & Knowledge
* Previous experience as a secretary, administrator, or similar role with responsibility for meeting coordination, minute-taking, and document management.
* Familiarity with charity or CIC governance, including Companies House reporting and compliance requirements, is highly desirable.
* Basic financial administration or budget tracking experience to assist with organisational finances.
* Competence in using digital tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based file management systems.
* Experience supporting volunteer onboarding and scheduling would be a plus.
While it's preferable for volunteers to be based in or near Birmingham to attend occasional office meetings, we welcome applicants who can commit to remote working and occasional visits.

What will you be doing?
The Volunteer Secretary will manage and coordinate board and team meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes. They will maintain accurate records and governance documents, support internal communications, assist with compliance and statutory filings, and help with basic financial administration.
They will also manage the organisation's calendar, support volunteer onboarding and scheduling, and provide general administrative support to the Directors and project leads. Most tasks can be done remotely, with occasional attendance at the Birmingham City Centre office for meetings or working sessions.
This role is essential in ensuring Diver's Community CIC runs smoothly, remains compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, and supports the growth of our volunteer base and services.
