Outsourced Manufacturing Engineer (m/f/*)
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Outsourced Manufacturing Engineer for the Metal and Electronics supplier commodity, you will collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse teams worldwide.
Your responsibilities include:
* Leading and supporting Change Management Projects
* Contributing to the success of our New Product Introduction program by ensuring smooth transitions from scale-up to launch phases with relevant suppliers
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, reduce inventory and lead times, decrease costs, improve quality, and optimize footprint/portfolio
* Coordinating daily operations and activities with suppliers
* Assessing suppliers' technical capabilities to meet 3M's needs and requirements
Your Skills and Qualifications:
Candidates should have:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering fields
* Previous experience as a Manufacturing or Process Engineer, or in a similar role
* Proven experience in supplier performance management within a manufacturing environment
* Strong project management skills
* Excellent written and spoken English
Additional preferred qualifications include experience managing suppliers in the metal or electronics industries, familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and audit procedures, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a background in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
Job Specifics:
* Location: UK-based, within a commutable distance to Aycliffe, Skelmersdale, or Bracknell
* Hybrid working pattern: 2-3 days remote/office
* Travel: Up to 15-20% domestic/international
