About the Role and Client:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Assistant to provide administrative support to the Purchasing Department. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
* Act as the first point of contact for suppliers
* Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently
* Handle goods-in paperwork
* Check and collate order acknowledgements
* Liaise with scheduling/production teams regarding delivery updates
* Monitor stock levels
* Track orders and resolve delivery issues with suppliers
* Maintain supplier records and monitor delivery times for KPI compliance
* Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing Team
Candidate Requirements:
* Previous administrative experience preferred
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
* Strong communication skills, verbal and written
* Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
