Senior IT Engineer 37 hours per week £32,929 - £34,877 per annum We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Engineer to join our College IT Services Department. The Senior IT Engineer will provide 2nd and 3rd line support across the College’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance and security. Ideally, you will have: IT certifications (e. g., Microsoft, VMware, ITIL, Cyber Security). GCSEs in English and maths at grade 4/C or above or equivalent Extensive experience in Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), SCCM, Intune, and Microsoft 365. Experience managing a Cisco, Extreme or Aruba managed switch and wireless infrastructure. Familiarity with cyber security best practices, compliance frameworks, and data protection regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive and analytical approach. Day-to-day responsibilities: Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for Microsoft-based infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), SCCM, Intune, and related services. Provide 2nd line network administration, management and configuration of the Aruba network switch infrastructure. Monitor IT systems for security threats, applying patches and updates as needed. Provide technical guidance to the Helpdesk team, assisting them with 1st and 2nd line support when required.
