Salary: Β£27,000 per annum
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
Location: Kiln Way, Swadlincote, DE11 8EA
This position requires significant flexibility to collaborate effectively with our US-based team. The candidate must be able to align their working hours with Central Daylight Time (CDT), which is six hours behind UK time (BST/GMT). Whilst some flexibility is possible, a substantial overlap with Texas business hours is a non-negotiable requirement of the role.

About the Role
First Fence, a market-leading UK supplier of fencing and gates, is undertaking a strategic expansion into the United States market. With Seven established locations across the UK and a high-traffic e-commerce platform, we plan to launch a service-focused offering, commencing with initial operations in Texas.
We are seeking a Product Research Administrator to join our team and help facilitate this transition. This UK-based role is crucial for investigating the US market, analysing competitor landscapes, and managing the introduction of new products. This individual will provide the vital market intelligence and supplier coordination needed to build a successful US product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Market Research: Demonstrable ability to fully comprehend, manage, and execute a comprehensive research programme into US fencing materials, standards, and market trends.
* Commercial Analysis: Proven experience in conducting detailed competitor analysis, including product comparisons and evaluating product margins to identify commercial opportunities.
* Product Lifecycle Management: Experience in maintaining and progressing a New Product Introduction (NPI) programme, tracking products from conception to market launch.
* Supplier & Partner Liaison: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to competently liaise with suppliers and partners in overseas territories to understand and compare technical product specifications.
* Internal Collaboration: The ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, particularly the Technical Design Engineer, to ensure all research, data, and specifications are aligned and accurately communicated.
* Strategic Recommendations: Strong analytical skills with the capability to make informed, data-driven recommendations for product strategy based on thorough market research.
Travel & Eligibility Requirements
* Occasional international travel to the US (Texas) will be required to ensure product specifications align with market requirements.
* Applicants must hold a valid UK passport.
* Applicants must be eligible to travel to the United States (e.g., under the ESTA Visa Waiver Program).
* Applicants must possess a full, valid UK driving licence.
* This role is subject to a background check. The successful candidate must have no unspent criminal convictions.
