We require an experienced MOT tester & motor vehicle technician to join our modern, professional & busy facility. We have a very well established customer base & great customer service is so important to us. Working alongside our enthusiastic team we are looking for an individual that is able to work well with others, to be self motivated & have good communication skills.
Happy to consider a candidate only wanting a part time position (3 days/24hrs minimum requirement). Days worked could be negotiable to suit candidate.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and be able to carry out mechanical tasks including, tyre fitting, exhausts, brakes, suspension, general servicing and repairs to a wide range of vehicles.
* Identify and diagnose mechanical faults and issues during inspections.
* Ensure all testing equipment is maintained and calibrated correctly.
* Complete necessary documentation accurately and promptly
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with other team members to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
*Skills*
* Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to understand complex vehicle systems.
* Experience with heavy lifting, ensuring safe handling of equipment and vehicles.
* Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools effectively for repairs and adjustments.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail to identify potential issues during inspections.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy workshop environment.
Licence/Certification:
* MOT Examiner Accreditation (required)
* Full Driving Licence (required)
* NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (preferred)
