An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join a growing, contract-led business operating in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
This role offers excellent exposure across operations, working closely with contract and commercial teams to drive financial performance, improve reporting, and support decision-making across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of monthly management accounts including full P&L and balance sheet ownership
* Deliver detailed variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast/prior period), providing clear insight into performance
* Partner with contract managers and operational teams to support financial performance across projects
* Monitor and report on WIP, revenue recognition, and cost tracking across contracts
* Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and improving cash conversion
* Assist with budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts, ensuring alignment with operational plans
* Ensure strong financial controls and balance sheet reconciliations are in place and maintained
* Support year-end processes and audit, including preparation of supporting schedules
* Drive process improvements across reporting, systems, and finance operations
* Provide ad hoc analysis to support commercial decisions and contract performance
About You
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or finalist nearing completion
* Experience within a contract-led, project-based, or service environment (e.g. construction, engineering, infrastructure, outsourcing)
* Strong understanding of WIP, revenue recognition, and contract accounting
* Confident business partner, able to work closely with non-finance stakeholders
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insight
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Salary
£60,000 to £65,000 basic plus full benefits package to include annual bonus
